Vitae of WIPO experts

Irene Kitsara is IP Information Officer at WIPO and has 12 years of experience in patent analytics. She is responsible for publications, methodological resources and training on patent analytics at WIPO. She is the project lead of the WIPO flagship publication Technology Trends, and has been the Project Coordinator of the Patent Landscape Reports (PLR) since 2010 (with over 15 PLRs published to date). She led the development of the Guidelines for Preparing Patent Landscape Reports, the Manual on Free and Open Source Tools for Patent Analytics and currently the Handbook on Patent Analytics. Ms. Kitsara was responsible for the update of the WIPO Patent Register Portal, developed the area of training on patent analytics for the WIPO Technology and Innovation Support Centers (TISCs) and provides related training, while she currently works on upcoming patent landscape reports on COVID-19 and on fuel cell technologies for transport. Previously to her WIPO employment, Ms. Kitsara worked for German and Greek Law firms, the European Patent Office, the European Commission, the Max-Planck-Institute for International and Foreign Social Law as scientific assistant to the Director, and the Greek Ministry of Interior Affairs in the Citizen-State Relations. Ms Kitsara is IP lawyer with studies at the LMU in Munich Germany and Law Faculty of Athens, and admitted at the Athens Bar Association.

Enric Escorsa O’Callaghan is a Consultant for the Technology and Innovation Support Division, IP and Innovation Ecosystems Sector of the World Intellectual Property Organization in Geneva. He is CEO of IALE Tecnología SL, a consultancy firm on Technology and Innovation based in Barcelona with a subsidiary in Vi?a del Mar (Chile); an Agricultural Engineer from ETSAB-UPC, Polytechnical University of Catalonia with 15 years of experience as an international consultant on Technology Scouting and Competitive Intelligence, Data Science and IP related projects. He is also a Teacher in Master and Postgraduate programs of several Universities in Spain and Latin America.
